Terms & Conditions

Version 1.5 · Reviewed 19 October 2026

1. Who operates EraZip

EraZip is a personal project provided free of charge by Toni Pirvulescu, based in the United Kingdom. The website is available at https://erazip.com/. Contact: contact@erazip.com. Contact address: 54 Pegler Court, Pegler Way, Crawley, West Sussex, RH11 7GU, United Kingdom. EraZip is the project name. It does not identify a registered company or assert a particular business or tax status.

2. The service and price

EraZip / SmartCut Basic helps you prepare full-width strip cutting plans. This edition is free to use for personal and internal business purposes, including work for your customers. There is no subscription or payment enabled in this edition. Your internet provider or printing service may charge separately. A future paid edition will have separate terms and require an explicit purchase; using this edition does not authorise a payment or automatic subscription.

3. Permission and your work

The accompanying Free Use Licence describes the permission to use and install the application. You can save or print these terms and the licence for reference. Application redistribution, resale, rebranding or public hosting requires permission except where applicable law or a third-party licence permits otherwise. You may share a link to the official service. You retain your rights in the data you enter and may use and share your exported job files, cutting lists and PDFs, including for commercial purposes. No ownership of your work is transferred to EraZip. Third-party components retain their own licence terms. These terms do not narrow the permissions granted by the Free Use Licence or any rights you have under applicable law. Read the Free Use Licence.

4. What to check before cutting

Use the documented dimensions and fixed 4 mm kerf for this edition. Confirm that they match your actual material and cutting process. The application plans cuts; it does not operate a saw, check machine capacity, or replace machine instructions. Review quantities, every cutting variant and its slab count before production. Minimum proven refers to the number of stock slabs when that result is shown. It does not establish the shortest working time or fewest cutting patterns. If a search stops at a limit, the application may show a valid plan whose minimum stock count is not proven. Follow the status shown for your specific calculation.

5. Saving, files and updates

Saved jobs are stored in your current browser/profile for the current site address. There is no account-based synchronisation or remote job-backup service. Export .smartcut backups for editing and PDFs for readable cutting schedules. Keep independent backups before clearing browser data, changing device or site address, or applying updates. Local storage can be removed by you or your browser. Save changes in all windows before following the documented update procedure. The grouped PDF contains one complete A4 page or an explicit export error if the order cannot fit readably; a PDF is not an editable backup.

6. Reasonable use and availability

Do not use the service unlawfully, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorised access or remove required third-party notices from copies you are lawfully entitled to distribute. No permission to access another person's jobs or accounts is granted. We aim to provide a useful service, but do not promise uninterrupted hosting, compatibility with every device, universal optimality or a particular production outcome. Changes, maintenance or withdrawal may affect availability. Where reasonably practicable, material changes will be explained before taking effect. Existing permissions under the dated Free Use Licence are not retrospectively withdrawn merely because a future edition has different terms.

7. Responsibility and legal rights

Responsibility for loss is determined by applicable law and the circumstances. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Mandatory consumer rights are unaffected. There is no blanket exclusion of all responsibility or requirement that users waive their legal remedies.

8. Questions, complaints and ending use

Contact contact@erazip.com about the service, these terms or a complaint. Include the version/build and a short explanation when reporting a technical issue. Never send passwords, recovery codes or other authentication secrets to support. Only send customer information when necessary for the request and when you are entitled to share it; use anonymised examples where possible. Ordinary technical support has no guaranteed response time. For data protection complaints, contact the same email address; we will acknowledge receipt within 30 days, investigate and explain the outcome without undue delay, as applicable law requires. You may stop using the application at any time and keep your exported work. Any restriction or termination for misuse must be lawful and proportionate; it does not transfer ownership of your outputs or remove statutory rights.

9. Governing law and updates to these terms

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, subject to mandatory protections available to you. Nothing prevents a consumer from using a court or legal protection available under the law that applies to their circumstances. New terms will carry a version/date and apply prospectively as lawfully notified. If a provision is unenforceable, the remainder applies to the extent permitted by law. The Privacy Notice explains personal-data handling separately; reading these terms is not blanket consent to marketing or other data processing.
